Leadership LINKS Mentoring Program for Girls

Serving students between 6th-12th grade, the Leadership LINKS Mentoring Program for Girls is a 9-month (September-May) program putting our Youth LINKS Leaders (program participants) on the leadership pathway to becoming the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and executive leaders.

Leadership LINKS, Inc. uses well researched best practices, and a team and small group mentoring model for program delivery. We have a hybrid program with some of our mentoring groups meeting face-to-face (currently in High Point and Durham, NC) and some of them meeting virtually. In addition to providing leadership, mentorship, education, character and spiritual development, our mentoring program stretches Youth LINKS Leaders (program participants) to serve as peer mentors for and positive influencers to each other, as they receive Knowledge from a diverse group of leaders and mentors who work in various career fields across the country. Our mentoring program provides us with many opportunities to educate and equip servant leaders of character to fulfill our organization’s purpose through our core values of Love, Inspiration, Network, Knowledge, and Service.

We believe in making long-term investments in small groups of to transform lives. Our mentors are committed to Mentoring Across Generations, deeply value and understand the positive impact that mentoring can have on a young person’s life, and they are therefore committed to continuing their mentoring relationships formally or informally for the rest of the LINKS Leader’s life.

This program gives Leadership LINKS, Inc. the opportunity to:

  • Provide character and spiritual development while cultivating the ability to establish and maintain healthy and loving relationships;

  • Provide the education and life skills needed to pursue personal and professional dreams, and lead an impactful life for the greater good of humanity; 

  • Provide exposure to a variety of career fields with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and executive leadership; and

  • Provide Inspiration and support to pursue college, career, technical, and professional opportunities to lead with purpose.

Throughout the mentoring season, we provide networking opportunities; and additional leadership, team building, and service opportunities through the Youth Leadership Committee. We offer Leadership Exploration Workshops and/or guest speakers so Youth LINKS Leaders are exposed to career fields where women are traditionally underrepresented in the higher echelons of business and entrepreneurship, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), media and arts, and the military and government. Perhaps these career fields are not for you, or you have not considered innovation, entrepreneurship, or executive leadership as a possibility. That is okay. The life, leadership, and relational skills that you learn in this program, through your mentoring relationships, and from our Leadership LINKS Network will be beneficial wherever you go. Active participants in the mentoring program are also provided the opportunity to attend in our spring Leadership Experience Tour (LET).

Leadership LINKS, Inc. is a faith-informed organization, meaning that the Christian faith of the organization’s leadership team informs every aspect of our lives, leadership, service to this organization, and the Leadership LINKS Network that we are intentionally cultivating. It also inspires our organizational programming and curriculum development. While commitment to the Christian faith is not a requirement for program participation; respect for this ethnic and emphasis is important for a participant to get the most out of their program experience and to encourage positive mentoring group dynamics.
